Ann Lee Parker was born in Livingston, Alabama, October 16,1946 to the late Fred and Annie Bell Simmons. She was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Shaw High school in 1964.
Ann began working at Ohio Bell, which is now AT&T, right after high school, she retired from AT&T and began working as a STNA in 2016 at Judson Park. She received various training throughout her lifetime. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in her teenage years where she joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and which she is still a member present today.
Growing up Ann was the life of the party, she was always full of laughter, she was always smiling. To know her was to love her. She brought nothing but joy and the word of Christ to your heart. Ann was the matriarch to her family and friends. She was an awesome mother to her only child Wanda which she spoiled dearly.
Ann went over and beyond to do her finest to provide guidance. She was known for her ease in frequent conversations with even a total stranger. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around will never be forgotten. A woman of faith and a pure heart of an angle she, participated in many of prayer groups, bible studies and missionary activities, with an abundance zest for life for the Lord. She loves to chat with her friends and her little sister Betty and boy did they love to travel, go on outings and let's not forget we not doing none of this unless they go eat. If you know Ann, you know she loves to eat.
Ann fulfilled her leadership role as a woman of GOD who loved the Lord with compassion, faith, love and wisdom. Never once complaining of nothing, not even throughout her struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. She clearly understood the battle was not hers, that it belonged to the Lord.
God called Ann home on July 2, 2024. Ann was proceeded in death by her parents Fred and Annie Bell Simmons, her Aunt Addie Ruth Simmons, her first cousin Ella Lawson and her great nephew Antonio Davis-Moore, Sisters in Christ, Lorene Sherrod and Mary Beddard.
