ANNA MARIE GUSTAFSON, age 68, daughter of the late Joanne Winston and Alphonse Michael Danastasio, passed away at her home on Monday, January 24th, 2022.
Anna was the Beloved wife of Eric Paul (AKA Emondo, Sir Honeybuns ), whom she joined in marriage on August 22, 2004. They met in the parking lot of a Bob Evans in Harmarville, Pa and that was the start of their life journey together. Their devotion to each other was never-ending and a testament to the love they shared.
Loving Mother to David P. Spynda Jr., Matthew A. Spynda and Kristen M. Spynda. Youthful Grandmother to Devin Mulroney and Brandon Stawarz. Sister to Teresa Bonenberger (Raymond), Alphonse Danastasio Jr. (Nancy), Natalie Knowlton (Michael), Shawn McNerney (Amy), and an infant sister, Catherine, who died shortly after birth. Survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Anna embarked on a college education later in life and graduated with an Associates Degree from Community College of Allegheny County in Liberal Arts., She went on further to receive a dual minor in Art and Psychology and her Master of Science Degree from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA.
Anna continued her education and studied post graduate courses at Cleveland State University. Counseling was her main focus and she used her knowledge to generously reach out to those in need.
Possessing many talents throughout her life, she enjoyed creating wonderful family heirlooms that she generously shared. She loved to work in ceramics, sculpting, painting, woodworking, sewing, and jewelry designing. She loved to cook for Eric, family and friends and was an accomplished baker. Her cookies and cakes were thoroughly enjoyed by family and friends.
Anna had a profound love for the Lord and was active in sharing His love with anyone in need. Her most fulfilling journey with Eric was working side by side in their Christian music ministry- EricPaul Band, where she enjoyed songwriting, playing djembe and percussion. They performed at Laura’s Home Women’s Crisis Center and various house concerts. They also opened for Christian music singer and songwriter, Mitch McVicker.
Anna loved to decorate and was especially fond of the clothing and decor influenced by the Victorian era. She made a home for herself and Eric that was dramatic, warm and romantic.
Their library room was enjoyed each morning as Eric would read Bible selections or favorite books to his beloved. Such a lovely start to their day and the perfect example of their close relationship. The room has a very intimate feel and truly reflects her taste. Many rooms in their home reflect this same influence. She was definitely born in the wrong era!
Garden design and planning was a special passion and resulted in their home being featured in Garden Walk Cleveland and designated as a certified Natural Wildlife garden. These achievements were a source of great joy and pride.
Anna will be remembered as loving, devoted, humble, generous, passionate, talented, eclectic, witty and creative. She loved all God’s creatures and fed everything that lived, from the birds in her garden, to the cats in her driveway and the guests in her home. No creature, great or small, went without sustenance in her presence. She was especially fond of her furbabies, Nikki, , Skippy and Spencer, who were cherished and greatly missed by Anna when they crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Our Dear Sweet Anna /Anna Marie/Annie, Annie Bannanie, will be sorely missed but we are comforted in knowing that Heaven has gained an Angel and that this isn’t goodbye, it’s just “bye for now”.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Church, date to be determined.
Memorials in Anna’s name may be forwarded to the City Mission- Laura’s Home Women’s Crisis Center located at 18120 Puritas Avenue, Cleveland Oh 44135
