She was born in Demopolis, Alabama, the daughter of the late James Rhone and Ernestine Cowan Gary. Annette was preceded in death by her loving wife of 22 years, Annmarie "Linda" Cortes; loving mother of Joe Rodriguez (Amanda), Cynthia Rodriguez, Alexandria Ramos, Jasmine Cortes Ross, Jeremy Cortes Sr. (Maria) and Jose Cortes Jr., cherished fun-loving gramma to Aliana, Angel, Antonio,Trinity (Kiara), Marrissa, Akari, Jayla, Demetrius Jr., Sidina, Sarenity, Geovani, Jeremy Jr., McKenzi, Tatiyana, Adelina, Penelope and Brysen and great-grandmother of Misael, Aubrey, Kaelonni, Nasir, Alfonzo Jr., Zaim and Antonio Jr.; dear sister of Willie Gary (Enise) and Melissa Fields; dearest cousin and best friend of Frankie Jennings; adored aunt and friend of many.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 2, 2026 from 4PM-8PM with a funeral service at 7PM at Craciun Berry Funeral Home, 7200 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44102. Family would appreciate those in attendance to please wear her favorite colors of white and burgundy. Interment services will be private. She will be laid to rest with her beloved wife Linda at West Park Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio.
