

EARLY YEARS
Annie Delores Johnson was born to the Late Annie Lee Johnson and Gehazel Pettway on 07/30/1940 in Birmingham Alabama.
In 1948 Annie moved to Cleveland, OH at the age of 8 years old. She joined and was baptized at Second Metropolitan Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev Booker T Birmingham until his passing. She was then under the leadership of Pastor Napoleon Harris IV. Annie was a faithful and dedicated member. Annie was educated in the Cleveland Public School System.
ADULT YEARS
In 1957, Annie met and married David Barnes Sr and to this union 3 children were born, Caren Theresa, David Barnes Jr and Anthony Earl who preceded her in death.
In 1966, Annie survived a major stroke at the age of 26 after the loss of her 3rd child. She had to regain memory of her entire being. Once Annie recovered, she reestablished her relationship with the Lord and served as a Deaconess for over 30 years.
In 1968, Annie began her 40 year career at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation starting in Dietary. Annie knew she wanted more out of life and educated herself which allowed her to advance as an Operating Room Surgical Technician in the Division of Surgery.
In 2000, Annie met and married Louis Tarver on 12/16/2000 officiated by Pastor Napoleon Harris IV.
GOLDEN YEARS
Ann truly enjoyed praising the Lord and spending time with her family. Annie was known for her famous "Banana Pudding".
On 05/01/2026, Annie suffered another stroke which she survived and was on the road to recovery. Annie appeared to be doing well with her Rehab but on 06/10/26, Annie suffered another stroke which was too much for her body to handle and as a result, she began to deteriorate. Annie passed away surrounded by the love of her family on 07/13/2026.
Annie is preceded in death by her newborn son, Anthony Earl, her husbands, David Barnes Sr and Louis Tarver, her mother Annie Lee McCurdy, her father Gehazel Pettway, her bonus dad John McCurdy Sr, her sister Dorothy Jean McCurdy, her brother John McCurdy Jr and her special friend Louise Sims.
Annie leaves to mourn her children Caren (Anthony), David Jr (Kimberly) 4 Grandchildren, Randy, Ebony, Brandon and Rayshaun, 4 Great Grandchildren, Raekwon, Ramon Jr, Saimone and Rayshaun Jr and 1 Great Great Grandson, Ramon III, one sister Sandra Lee, one brother Alvin Earl, her special cousins, Barbara Jean & Lillian Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been according to his purpose.
God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, He gently closed my loving eyes and whispered, "Peach be thine".
The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepness nights are passed.
This ever patient worn-out frame, has found sweet rest at last.
