Obituary Bernice was born February 1, 1940 in Vidalia, Georgia, to Harry and Rosie Lee Williams, both preceding her in death. She originally attended Dickerson High School in Georgia, but during high school, her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Bernice completed her high school education at Glenville High School. Bernice also perused higher education, completing her Associates Degree. She met Thomas Sanford, the love of her life, when she was ten years old and they quickly became best friends. In 1958 when she was 18 years old, she married Thomas. They had two sons, Thomas Jr. and Sean. Thomas joined the army and they traveled all over the world. Her favorite places were Naples, Italy and Panama City, Panama. When Thomas retired from the Army they decided to settle in Cleveland, Ohio. She the joined Straightway Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Span. A few years ago, Pastor Crawford became the shepherd of Straightway Fellowship Church. Bernice worked on the Trustee Board as well as other auxiliaries of the church. Bernice was a faithful worker in the church, serving in many capacities throughout her Christian experience. Bernice worked for NAS Insurance Company for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and working with students from her alma mater and other Cleveland schools; teaching student’s culinary skills. Bernice loved to garden but most of the time she was directing Thomas where to place their beautiful plants. She spent many hours meticulously attending to her beautiful flowers. Bernice also exhibited this same kind of meticulous care with her home and dress. She took great pride in all God had blessed her to possess. Bernice’s two sister, Gloria Goode, Mae Bunn and son, Thomas Jr preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Thomas Sr. after 67 years of marriage, her son Sean, two sisters, Mel Q (Don), Louise (David) Goode. Grandchildren Thomas P, Tierra, Lexi, Nick, Brandy, Great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
