At a young age she left Ohio to California, there she met and married Prince Peter Olugboyega Akinyele of Nigeria. The union produced 2 children Dara and Olusegun. Due to unforeseen circumstances she raised her children on her own. The family reunited later in life.
Betty loved the Lord, she graduated from Aenon Bible College in Los Angeles and became an ordained Minister. She was a member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World.
She loved kids and became a foster mom while running a daycare. She also owned a drycleaners and her passion for cooking led to her owning a restaurant also.
Travelling was also one of her hobbies. She’s been to Africa, Egypt and Jerusalem. She enjoyed putting her feet (corns!) in the ocean.
Betty Louise Akinyele is survived by her daughter Dara Perkins and son Olusegun Akinyele (Katrina), grandchildren Devonne Akinyele, Desiree Perkins, Azaria Freeman, Jaela Lewis, Malaka Lewis, Lucas Akinyele, Andre Akinyele and great-grandson Zane Perkins.
Betty transitioned on April 20, 2021, she was a strong, independent, God loving woman. She is loved and will be missed by all who crossed her path.
