Billie Jean was born December 22, 1933 in Rome, Georgia. She was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Billie Jean came to Cleveland, Ohio in 1956 following behind her older sister Bernice, where she met her future husband Eddie Chislton. They wed in 1961. Billie’s parents along with a younger sister arrived shortly after to Cleveland. Billie Jean took on the role to care for parents and her sister (who was mentally challenged )until each of their passing. For many years, Billie Jean worked as an house keeper where she became “family” to several households until she retired. Both Billie Jean and Eddie Chislton joined Good Shepherd Baptist Church, following their three daughter’s footsteps. From there, Ms. Billie Jean served in the adult choir ministry at Good Shepherd until she became ill. Billie Jean’s love for the Lord was evident through her gift to serve others. She continued to be a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother until she went home to be with the Lord and reunite with her husband in heaven. We celebrate her birthday and home going today where she would have turned 90 years old!
The family would like to offer a special thanks to our GSBC church family, Cummings and Davis funeral home, neighbors, friends and loved ones for their kind words, thoughts, prayers and services.
