It was a pleasure meeting my great-uncle when he came to Peoria, Illinois  for my grandmother, (and his sister), Purdie Purifoy  funeral service.   I was amazed to see how much they favored.  He kept us laughing the entire time. He was filled with so much love and laughter. He was able to meet 4 generations of his nieces and nephews just in Peoria. He taught us a few tunes that he would hum.   I’m so grateful to have met him. My condolences to the rest of the family.

My dear uncle Carlton my fondest memory of you is when I moved from Peoria, Il to stay with you and family in Cleveland, Ohio.
We would always sit at the dinner table together and eat dinner.He would tell me you are welcome to eat any food on this table but make sure you eat everything on your plate!
I did too.We laughed about that years later.
Years later he came to Peoria to his sister service. We had lots of fun sitting around talking about old times.He would always sing this one song around the house. My son from Dallas would call me and ask me momma what is the song uncle Cartine was singing when he came to Peoria. 
He would always call me and check on everyone in Peoria and Bluff City . I would call and check on him also.
I ‘m really going to miss him.

One day daddy brought home a pretty puppy that we found out he didn't like red. I wore a red skirt one day and had to drag him around the house so daddy decided that the puppy had to go to a new home. Today I still don't know what home he went to but that has been around 63 yrs ago. Lol  Rest on daddy!

My first tooth extraction was done by my daddy, Mr. Carlton Ingram, and he was no dentist!!!!  He used his wire pliers (a mechanics tool) to pull my tooth.  I think he was tired of me complaining about it needing to be pulled.
