She leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and unconditional love through her cherished family, including her sons David Hobly and Jimmy Hobly; her granddaughter Ouida Alexander, and grandson David Morton; and her beloved great-grandchildren Carl Hampton, Charlie Webb, Malik Webb, and Shaki Webb. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Clara was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: John Hobley, Lorene Cannon, Nathaniel Savage, Dorothy Williams, and Clarence Savage, who now welcome her home into eternal rest.
A woman of unwavering faith, Clara was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Christian Church under Pastor Mulberry, on East 82nd Street and Superior Avenue, where she faithfully worshiped and actively participated in church activities. She found great joy in singing and traveling with her church gospel group, sharing her love for the Lord through music and fellowship.
Throughout her career, Clara worked in hospitality at the Sheraton Hotel on Public Square, where her warm spirit, professionalism, and welcoming personality touched the lives of many.
Clara had a vibrant and joyful personality. She loved singing, dancing, traveling, knitting, and cooking meals that brought family together around the table. Family gatherings, especially holiday cookouts, were among her greatest joys. She was known for her delicious cooking, her generous heart, and her ability to make everyone feel at home.
Her faith guided every aspect of her life. Clara loved reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and speaking about the goodness of God.
