Dale L Hughes

September 9, 1939May 16, 2020

Dale L Hughes was born September 9, 1939 to the union of Leroy Hughes and Ruth Agee in Dalton, Missouri. Dale attended Vocational High School in Dalton, Missouri. He later served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1957. Dale moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1959 where he later met and married Helen Winifred Jackson. To this union one daughter was born, Gayle Laverne. On October 23, 1985, Dale was united in Holy Matrimony to Ruthie Hampton, whom he lovingly called “Cakes”. To this union one son was born, Kindall Ramone. Dale was employed by the Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) until he retired in 1991. He was considered to be a great plasterer tradesman. He worked all over the city of Cleveland and surrounding suburbs on plastering jobs. While in the nursing home Dale looked forward to his monthly visits from his sister in law Liz "Jay" to come cut his hair, he always greeted her with a big smile. Dale leaves to cherish his precious memory: A loving and dedicated Wife Ruthie Hughes, Daughter Gayle Anderson (Sam), Son Kindall Hampton (Alice), Special Step-daughter Tammie Hampton, Jimmie Hampton (Kennita), Jeffrey Hampton (Traevon). Brothers Charles Hughes, Roy Lee and Gale Eugene preceded him in death. Sisters Wilma Sue Hughes, Donna Smith (William), Sister In Law Lorraine Hughes, Grandchildren Cacci Young and Cortez Anderson, Step Grandchildren Chantel, Tyler “His Special Guy Ty”, Nadia, Jimmie, Jimaree, Brooklyn, Great Grandchildren Shandi, Jordan and Brooklyn, a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. Dale you were a great and compassionate man who cared about people. I am all that I am today, because God and you loved me. The race was long, and you fought a good fight, but the Lord knows what best and called you for your rest. Sleep on Dale and I’ll see you in the sweet by and by. Love Your Wife, Cakes
