Dan was a devoted and loving father to Zachary Lade, Wendie Heckerman, Avery Heckerman (Cheyenne), and Cassidy Heckerman, and a proud, deeply cherished grandfather to Cherokee, Lucy, Rayne, Penny, and Bailey—each of whom brought immense joy to his life. He was a dear brother to Sue, Tracy, and Bobby, and is reunited in peace with his siblings Jan, Jim, and Lynn. Dan was an adored uncle, a loyal friend, and a steady presence to so many who were lucky enough to know him.
A retired truck driver, Dan had a larger-than-life personality. He was the life of every gathering, known for his quick wit, great sense of humor, and unmistakable infectious laugh. A lifelong Cleveland Indians fan, he carried his love for the city and its teams with pride. Dan’s warmth, laughter, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. There will be a seat saved at the bar.
Though his absence is deeply felt, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at a later date.
