Darrell attended Euclid Park Elementary School, Spellacy Junior High
School, Cleveland School of Arts and Collinwood High School. He played
baseball, football and track. He was a competitor and would compete
against you. His dad would always tell him, “A try beats a failure” and also
to ask because all anybody could do is say yes or no.
He sang in the singing group his dad created called “3D”. It was Darrell,
Don and Delmar. They competed in competitions. He would shovel snow,
rake leaves, help the neighbors and help others. He got an a little trouble
and he said to his mom and dad that he would never do it again.
He accepted Christ in his life at the age of 13 at Good Shepherd Baptist
Church under the teaching of Pastor Eddie Hawkins.
At the age of 20 he had his first and only child Carvel Kane. Darrell love
to cook. He would always tell his mom that he wanted a restaurant and his
mother told him if she ever came into some money she would open up him
a restaurant.
He moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1994 and met the love of his life. They
were going to get married but she passed. It broke his heart. He went
through many struggles being the man he was. He loved his family and
friends. He always had a forgiving heart and would walk away from drama.
Darrell loved reggae music, he could sing it and dance it.
Every hospital he went to they spoke very highly of him and are very very
saddened of his passing.
His jobs were always cutting grass, detailing cars, painting and helping to
work on houses. Also shoveling snow, cooking, loving and being with his
family and friends. It meant the world to him. After fighting with cancer
and other things he went through he told his family to not worry about
him. What he’s going through is in Gods hands. When he took his last
breath he smiled. He’s at peace.
Darrell leaves his only child Carvel Kane, his mother Barbara Kane
Rudolph, his brother Donald Myron Kane, two nieces: Doneisha and
Donajiah Kane, one great nephew Christopher, two aunts: Tonya Williams
and Carol Leviege, five uncles: Larry Kane, Bob Shaw, Mark Shaw, Berl
Shaw, Larry Williams, one Godmother Renee Carter, two God brothers
and so many cousins and friends.
