OBITUARY

Denise Anita Berry

November 12, 1953May 9, 2020

Denise Anita Berry was born to the union of Charlie Lee Berry and Minnie Alma Berry on November 12, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio whom both preceded her in death. She was the first child of this union, her father Charlie had a son from a previous relationship. Denise accepted Christ at an early age becoming a member of Center Grove Baptist Church. At the very young age of 6 while attending Church of Christ, she became a member of a gospel singing group called “The Berry Girls” along with her three younger sisters. Denise was a “girly girl” always meticulous about her appearance. She attended Cleveland Metropolitan Schools in Glenville neighborhood where she met and fell in love with Cyril Finley at a very young age and to that union two daughters were born Kiiyonda and Kavonice. She enjoyed being a housewife and caretaker. Denise enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Denise took pride in knowing everyone birthdate and phone number. She was the glue that held the family in contact. We all loved her spaghetti, iced tea and 7-up pound cake. Her passing was a shock to everyone, she wasn’t sick. She leaves to mourn her two beautiful daughters Kiiyonda (Cory) and Kavonice (Timmy). Her grandchildren Lakiah, Keion, Timiah and Korionna. A brother Charles Jr. (who preceded her in death) his son Dominic. She also leaves her three sisters, Cozetta (Donnie, DeeJay who preceded her in death and Trina), Charlene (Crickett and DaiDae who preceded her in death) and Karen (Ren, Shaun and Bam). The matriarch of the family Aunt Maggie and a host of other cousins, great nieces and nephews as well as friends.
