Minnie Alma Berry on November 12, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio whom
both preceded her in death. She was the first child of this union, her father
Charlie had a son from a previous relationship.
Denise accepted Christ at an early age becoming a member of Center
Grove Baptist Church. At the very young age of 6 while attending Church
of Christ, she became a member of a gospel singing group called “The
Berry Girls” along with her three younger sisters. Denise was a “girly girl”
always meticulous about her appearance.
She attended Cleveland Metropolitan Schools in Glenville neighborhood
where she met and fell in love with Cyril Finley at a very young age and to
that union two daughters were born Kiiyonda and Kavonice. She enjoyed
being a housewife and caretaker.
Denise enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Denise took pride in
knowing everyone birthdate and phone number. She was the glue that held
the family in contact. We all loved her spaghetti, iced tea and 7-up pound
cake. Her passing was a shock to everyone, she wasn’t sick.
She leaves to mourn her two beautiful daughters Kiiyonda (Cory)
and Kavonice (Timmy). Her grandchildren Lakiah, Keion, Timiah and
Korionna. A brother Charles Jr. (who preceded her in death) his son
Dominic. She also leaves her three sisters, Cozetta (Donnie, DeeJay who
preceded her in death and Trina), Charlene (Crickett and DaiDae who
preceded her in death) and Karen (Ren, Shaun and Bam). The matriarch
of the family Aunt Maggie and a host of other cousins, great nieces and
nephews as well as friends.
