Uncle Donald, It’s all your fault! that I love Sports, especially football, and any kind of trivia pursuit.  Am remembering, can see it like yesterday, watching the games and Academic Challenge with you in the 70s.  Yes, this Girl was allowed😇😊 You and Auntie were the first to call me Apple and I quickly latched on to this. 🤗 
I was amped! when I heard that you were joining us for the mini reunion in Nevada in the 90s.  Yes, "Your Uncle had to get on a plane".  It took gliding on wings to cross those two thousand miles, but stopping short of earthquake country.😂 I always LOL&SMH at hearing, ‘Apple, where’d you hide the remote?” Knowing full well that You’ve always had it.  🤣 Please pass it to me, I need to turn the channel.  Rest in Power Uncle💕

Uncle Donald is my favorite Uncle.  I always remember him being so cool and self-assured and full of wisdom that I would later appreciate. He gave me a nickname, "Ferd" that I only heard when my mom would take me to the Lockharts's house. I have so many fond memories of 139th st and later spending time in Cleveland Heights and I will miss him very much. Aunt Priscilla, Wink and Kyle, I'm sorry I can't be there to support the family but please know that you are all in my heart and I will alway remember what a great Uncle and father-figure he was to me. We love you all!

Uncle Donald one of my fondest memories of you and my mom (your sister) was how happy she was about the birthday gift you gave her on her birthday.  Every December 22nd you got  her a bottle of Estee Laude Private Collection, she loved that perfume and she loved her brother Blinky.  Momma always knew on that day her brother was bringing her a bottle of her favorite perfume.  I still remember what she would say on that day “that’s my big head baby brother with my birthday gift “

I most remember Uncle Donald as a father figure in my life. He often shared words of wisdom with me that would have a thread of humor weaved among them. I can never hear songs like ‘Could it be I’m falling in love’, by the Spinners, and not think of my Uncle Donald Lockhart from Cleveland, Ohio.

Thank you God/universe for the time given to Unc’ Donald. I remember him teasing and giving me a hard time about my ‘rap music’ when I was there as a kid one summer. LOL - seems like such a long time ago. I am grateful for being able to see him again in 2018 and being reminded of how strong willed and no joke he was.
To those of us left to cherish his memory, I send love, patience and understanding beyond measure.
