Elba J Galarza

ELBA JUDITH GALARZA (maiden surname Sepulveda) better known as Mama by her loved ones, was born on November 6th, 1949. Mama was the youngest of 16 children to Juan Sepulveda and Isabel Rodriguez. She was born in Aguas Blancas, Yauco, Puerto Rico.

She married her lifetime love Herbert Galarza on August 28th, 1972. She became the loving mom to Glendaly Fernandez, Herbert Galarza Jr. and Yadira Galarza (deceased March 16, 2024.) She is survived by three of her siblings Alida Sepulveda, Francisco Antonio Sepulveda, and Ramon Luis Sepulveda. Her grandchildren Tatiara Garret-Fernandez, Tanirelis Fernandez, Tamaris Fernandez, and Pablo Fernandez Jr. will greatly miss her, along with her great-grandchildren Damil Santiago and Paulo Santiago.

Mama was a devout Christian who loved to sing, pray, and read the Bible. Mama always had counsel to everyone who approached her. Mama loved cooking and feeding all her family.

According to her grandchildren, "Mama had a sweet personality and was always a giving person without expecting anything in return. She loved everyone without judging them, hoping that they accepted her kids. We love mama because she always had a pure heart and she was always willing to please others and forgetting about herself. She babied her grandchildren till they weren’t babies anymore and even when we were older. She was just, all in reality, a genuine person and we'll always love and miss her. She was one of a kind. A unique woman. Nobody could compare to her, she was always pure about who she was. 😪 She was so REAL nobody could compare to her!"

Come celebrate Elba’s life Wednesday, June 12, from 4pm till time of service at 6pm in the Craciun Berry Funeral Home 7200 Detroit Ave. Graveside service will be Thursday, June 13 at 1:30pm in West Park Cemetery. PLEASE MEET AT CEMETERY.
