Freddie was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, the beloved son of the late Miguel and Juanita (Sanchez) Serrano. Freddie was the loving father of Freddie Serrano Jr., Lisa Serrano and Joseph Serrano; cherished grandfather of Sonia Serrano, Norberto Zeno, Alex Quinones, Amyla Serrano, Nicholas Ciacchi, Christian Serrano and Angel Serrano and great-grandfather of Isaac and Isaiah Serrano; dear brother of Alberto Davilla, Miguel Serrano, Rey (Tina) Serrano, Richard (Sally) Serrano and Leo (Nella) Serrano; adored uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Freddie was a proud former Golden Glove boxing champion in Cleveland, remembered for his strength, discipline, and determination inside the ring. Beyond boxing, he shared his love for martial arts as a Tae Kwon Do instructor, teaching others not only the skills of the sport but also the values of respect, perseverance, and self-confidence.
He was the kind of person who never met a stranger. With his warm personality and easy way of connecting, Freddie built friendships everywhere he went and became known and loved by many. His presence would light up a room, and people naturally gravitated toward his uplifting spirit.
What mattered most to Freddie, however, was his family. He held a special love for his children and grandchildren, cherishing the time spent together and creating memories that will live on in their hearts. His legacy of love, laughter, and strength will continue through those who knew and loved him most.
All services for Freddie will be private.
