

Harold Lavaughn Jordan was born on September 9, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Samuel L. Jordan (Aassim Mansur) and Ola Mae Jordan (Fareeda Mansur). Three of his siblings preceded him in death: Ronald Jordan, Tahirah Mujahid and Yvonne Jordan. Harold attended South High School in the Cleveland Municipal School District in the late 60s. He played several sports. Upon graduating, he attended Tri-C. He then transferred to Malone College in Canton OH and later transferred to Walsh College.
He enjoyed playing basketball and was a high scorer on each high school and college team he played on. He was an All American and coached basketball as well. His sanguine personality and charisma enabled him to easily make friends and connect with people. Harold worked at the Food Service Equipment Company for whom he made deliveries of professional kitchen supplies. He was later employed through the Cleveland Municipal School District initially in the maintenance department and later he worked with children. In addition, he worked at the Salvation Army, and was active in the Amway business for many years. He attended Amway rallies and seminars in northern, eastern and southern US states. He accepted Christ at an Amway church service.
Harold was married to Gayle Jordan in July of 1977. From that union, his eldest son, Jelani Jordan (Lon) was born. As this marriage ended in separation, He and Lydia Hardy joined their lives together and were blessed with 2 children: Christina Jordan and Antonio Jordan. He later developed a close relationship with the late Sandra Wiggins. She was very devoted to him.
Harold’s lengthy illness caused him to need the care of a nursing facility. His family celebrated his birthday by having yearly birthday parties in the Candlewood Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Social Room. He enjoyed visits from family and friends throughout the years. His sister Gwen was very supportive and gave Lon assistance with all medical and financial decisions regarding Harold's care.
Harold leaves to mourn his loss, his children: Jelani Jordan, AKA Lon, Christine Jordan - Holmes (Charles), Antonio Jordan; siblings: Robert Jordan (Mamie), Gwendolyn Al-Amin, Jourdan Mansur, AKA Sonny(Margret), LeoNard Jordan, Sharif Mansur (Andrea), and Jack Henderson; Granddaughter Saniyah Marie and a host of nieces and nephews.
