OBITUARY

Jacqueline Davis

February 22, 1944September 5, 2020

Jacqueline (Jackie) Davis was born on February 22, 1944 to Willie Tolbert and Cleo Stevenson in Benham, KY. Jackie received her formal education through Lynch Public Schools where she enjoyed being a majorette. Jackie accepted Christ as her Savior with First Baptist Church in Lynch, KY where she was Baptized at an early age. Jackie dedicated herself to her husband, her children, and her home where she often loved to entertain family and friends. She was also very active in her children’s schools where she was a contributing member of the Parent Teacher Association and a fundraiser for field trips. Her grandkids were her pride and joy and as a grandmother she was often involved with taking care of them as she did her own. Jackie was the type of person that was genuine and never bit her tongue yet she cared for many people, including her neighbors. On any occasion, she brought life, spice and laughter to those around her. She enjoyed going to the casino from time to time and loved dancing to Motown R&B music which she did during her last days.

Jackie is survived by her Husband Thornton Davis, her children Michelle Davis and Lamont Davis (Jennifer Davis), Grandsons Ishan Allen and Christian Davis, Sister Dorothy Tolbert, Brothers Jack Tolbert, Donald Tolbert, Jerry Tolbert, Bill Tolbert and a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved relatives.

Sending heartfelt and my most sincere condolences to the family. Your smile and laughter can fill a room!!
The best memory I could share; would be the secrets we shared at our family gatherings whispering and laughing like grade-schoolers.
I’ll miss you, Auntie!!!

Mrs Jackie!

You brought so much love laughter and pure joy to everyone around you! God was ready for you but our hearts were not. This truly a celebration bc you live your love the way YOU wanted! I remember the day me and Daja got you ready for you and Mr Thornton’s 50th Anniversary!
I’ve never seen you so happy! I appreciate every second we spent together and I will forever cherish you and our memories! Your beauty shines bright inside and out! Thank you for every hug and forced break ( she made sure we ate and had breaks at works and she didn’t take NO for an answer!) You never complained. NEVER!
You always had a smile on your face and open arms for a hug! We love you and you definitely will be missed!!

Until we meet again!

Jackie was so full of life and vitality. She was a woman of true character. Her kindness was a reflection of her personality. Her hospitality was awesome every time I would visit Ohio. That's why we should love the people God gives us, because one day He'll take them back. Will miss you dearly😔💞

My deepest condolences to Michelle, Lamont, Thornton and family. I'll miss that spark in her eyes when I would come to work and tell her good morning. At first she would just look at me but when she realize it's me she would light up and smile then she would jokingly frown because she knew I had medicine for her. She would tell me I don't want that nasty stuff (we know what she really called it...lol) I will miss you Jackie.❤️❤️
