Jacquelyn Susan Ellis

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that our Jacquelyn (Jackie) Susan Ellis, 58, of Cleveland Ohio passed away on July 1, 2026 at 6:17 AM. Born on September 30, 1967 to William Ellis Sr and Dolores Ann Babb, she was one of four children. Jackie is re-united with her beloved little brother, David (Dave) Ellis.

There were two things that meant the most to Jackie in this world, with the first being her children. Jackie’s greatest accomplishment in life was being our mother, she was a self-less and devoted mother, there wasn’t a thing on this Earth that Jackie wouldn’t do for her children. Jackie is survived by her four equally as stubborn children: Anthony Montoney, Taylor Montoney, Jennifer Ellis, and Nichole Zylko. Jackie is also survived by her long-term partner, Michael Zimmerman; as well as her three granddaughters Destiney Troche, Lyanna Rivera, and Mayah Rodriguez.

The second most important thing to Jackie were her pets, both past and present. The love Jackie carried for all creatures on this Earth was immeasurable and admirable. Jackie’s unconditional love for animals (even the wild ones) was easily one of her best attributes, she would be telling us all right now to put some fresh bowls of water out in this heat. Jackie always kept a fountain of water and feeders of food in her front yard for the many critters that were lucky enough to come across her.

Jackie prided herself in her independence, she knew what she wanted and there wasn’t a soul on this Earth that could tell her what to do (except her cats). In fact, the last thing Jackie did on this Earth was try to water her plants, walker in hand, by herself. When the Doctor told us they expected her heart to give out on the night of June 30, she made sure to wait until the next morning. True to her spirit, Jackie fought with vigor until the very end and when she left us it was on her own terms.

While Jackie had been battling several chronic health problems for some time, and had a particularly difficult past couple of months, nothing could have prepared us for her leaving so soon and in the way that she did. Jackie’s work on this Earth was far from over, but she did her best to prepare us to handle life without her and for that we are forever grateful.

Funeral Services will be held at Craciun Berry Funeral Home Friday July 24, 2026 at 4pm-8pm
