

John Hubert Spearman 88 years old passed away on Psalm Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the Gardens of McGregor after a long illness. He was born on July 16, 1931 in Blacklick, Pennsylvania to the late Lee Maxwell and Frances Lane. John was the youngest of eight children, brothers: Cottrell (Scotty), Leon, James, and Heard Spearman, sisters: Dorothy Moody, Ina Galbreath, Laura Farmer, all of which have preceded him in death.
John’s parents died at an early age, and he and his younger siblings were taken in and raised by family, the beloved Aunt Myrtle “Mama Spearman”, and Rueben David Spearman “Uncle Da Doo”, in Cleveland, Ohio where he completed his education.
John joined the Air Force and served in the Korean war during the period of January 5, 1951-December 30, 1953.
John was employed by Dupont Manufacturing as a welder. After his welding career, he became an entrepreneur and opened his own automobile collision and repair shop. John was successful in his endeavor, and was also a skilled craftsman in building furniture.
John married the late Frances Simon, and from this union was born his beloved daughter Denise.
Late in life he committed himself to Christ. John was well known as being a generous person, and influenced and mentored his grandson Damien in the automobile body business.
John loved to boast about his bar-be-cue and homemade sauce, and dreamed of opening up a restaurant. He enjoyed attending music concerts, fishing, traveling, and congregating with family and friends.
John leaves to mourn his daughter, Denise O’Brien, grandchildren Damien, Jonathan, and Erica great grandchildren Damien Jr, and Liam, his dear friend Lester White, and a host of family and friends.
