La’Toya Allenetta McCall was born in Cleveland, OH on February 21, 1981. She went on to her heavenly home on March 30, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Toya was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, partner and friend. She was full of love and was bright light to all who knew her.
Toya graduated from Jane Addams Business and Careers Center in 1999. She attended both University of Cincinnati as well as the Ohio State University. She was a talented artist with many recorded singles including a 2007 album titled The Collective. In her music pursuits, she worked with notable artists Bones Thugs and Harmony and II Tru, and performed at venues across Ohio including Vel’s On The Circle, Glenville Festival, Rap Olympics, Agora Theatre, and many others.
She was founder and CEO of Brosis Records, as well as a founding member of E.Y.E. (Educated Young Entrepreneurs) Production. She also enjoyed hanging out with her friends at Enhanced Transmissions.
In 2018 Toya became legal guardian to Katrina Bennett. She was honored to serve as a mom to her.
Toya leaves many loved ones to cherish her memory. Most notably, her mom Helen McCall; daughter Katrina Bennett; brother Colbert Boyd (Tiffanie); dear friend Jeffrey Calomathi; partner Tamika Johnson; five aunts Willie Braxton, Peggy Boyd, Lilly May Boyd, Loistine Boyd Foster, and Shirley Boyd Smith; two uncles George Lemore and Jimmy Boyd; and a host of other family members and friends.
A visitation for La Toya will be Held Thursday, April 4, from 10:30 AM to 11:30AM at Craciun Berry Funeral Home, 7200 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44102, followed by a celebration of life at 11:30 AM.
