Papi made his way to Ohio, where he dedicated over 20 years to baking at Hostess Baking Co., bringing joy home with Twinkies, ho-hos, pies, and bread. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was unwavering. Papi not only raised his children but also played a vital role in nurturing his siblings, showcasing the depth of his commitment to family.
As a die-hard Cleveland sports fan, he passionately supported the Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns. He also proudly played for the Hostess Bakery softball team, creating cherished memories at Edgewater Park on Saturdays. Just like Mami, he thrived in the warmth of hosting events at home, bringing people together. Papi was approachable and a gifted conversationalist, always eager to share stories about his upbringing, career, and family. His passion for trivia encompassed movies, actors, singers, sports, and history, and he found joy in the melodies of Motown, country, and R&B. Papi relished eating ribs and enjoyed his Pepsi Zero, sharing Mami's sweet tooth for treats like Nutter Butter, Kit Kats, and Butterfinger.
In his later years, he found comfort in his recliner, where he spent time watching sports and movies, listening to music, or working on crossword puzzles, embodying a life filled with love, laughter, and memories.
