Maggie Theresa Green was born to the union of Whitty Gene Stephens Sr and Minnie Lee Stephens in Cleveland, Ohio on February 29, 1964. She had two siblings, the late Whitty Gene Stephens II, and Sandra Carson. Maggie accepted Christ at an early age. Maggie and her siblings were raised by there mother the late Minnie Lee Stephens and the late Grandmother Maggie Wise who she was named after. Following the loss of their father. When she was a teenager, she suffered from hyperpigmentation which is define as darkened patches or spots on the skin. Embarrassed of her skin tone Maggie started wearing makeup, covering her natural beauty. While in high school she gave birth to the late Steve Stephens. Young, smart and determine to graduate, she graduated from Collinwood High School in 1983. In 1984 Maggie married James Green and had two children from there union, Richard and Terra Green. She worked for the Cleveland Municipal Court as a Deputy Clerk for several years. Divorced in 1990, a single mother of three, her mother and grandmother help raised her children.
For many years Maggie battled with her illness but never gave up, never complained such a strong beautiful soul. In the early 2000's she started to embrace her natural beauty despite her hyperpigmentation and everyone just loved her light skin tone such beauty inside and out. She had a great sense of humor and would always say "you have to laugh to keep from crying". Excited about being a grandmother in 2010 she welcomed her first grandson, Cameron Green from her daughter Tierra. Words could not explain the unconditional love she had for Cameron. Everyone knew she did not play about him. She practically help her daughter raised him and spoiled that boy. In and out the hospitals, she was a strong women who did not let her illness define her. Sandra, her little sister, always by her side every step of the way. The same way Maggie did not play about her grandson was the same way Sandra did not play about Maggie (that was her dawg) That's the way they always greeted each other, like what's up dawg, he dawg, or just even I love you dawg.
In 2011 Maggie Met her fiance', Robert Gould. She would always say how caring, compassionate, and loving he was. She loved that Robert was supportive despite her illness and was always by her side. MAggie went through a state of depression when she lost her husband in 2013, her brother in 2014, and her oldest son in 2017, which really took a toll on her. One thing about Maggie, she was going to tell her stories about her sickness to whoever wanted to listen, having open heart surgeries, numerous strokes, heart attacks and so much more. We would always say she is a living testimony, blessed and highly favored. When times got rough and her health failed her, God kept her here because it was not her time. It always amazed us to see her at her worse and then the next day as if nothing ever happened, she would always bounce right back. She did not have 9 lives she had 25, lol. In 2019 Tierra gave her another grandson Ja;Mari Green. She witnessed the births of both her grandsons which she was so excited about. In July 2023 her son Ricardo gave her a granddaughter Mackenzie Green who unfortunately she did not get to meet, but was able to see her pretty pictures. MAggie said she was tired, of being in pain, and suffering so she began to prepare her family. She would say it's already approved for her to go to Heaven. She told us to celebrate her life and have fun. On August 23, 2023, at 4:40 am God spoke and called Maggie home with her family right by her side. Maggie fought a good fight and has gone to Glory to receive her crown!
