Born in Cataño, Puerto Rico, Marcelina was the cherished daughter of the late Marcelino Santos and Amalia Lopez Santos. She built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. She shared more than 60 beautiful years of marriage with the love of her life, Fermin "Mingo" Rivera, until his passing on August 19, 2025. Their marriage was a testament to devotion, perseverance, and a love that inspired everyone who knew them. Though they were separated for a time by death, their family finds comfort in knowing they are reunited once again.
Marcelina was a devoted and loving mother to Fermin Rivera Jr., Robert Rivera, and Orlando (Janet) Rivera. She was also the proud mother of the late Victor (Ada) Rivera and the late Carlos Rivera, whose wife, Rosie, survives him. Her greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her twelve grandchildren and her many great-grandchildren, whose lives were forever enriched by her love, guidance, and unwavering support.
She is lovingly survived by her sisters, Josephine Montalvo and Maria (Luis) Torres. She was preceded in death by her siblings Ramona (Serafin) Gonzalez, Maria Juana Rodriguez, Augustine Santos, and Virginia (Neftalie) Santiago. She also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear neighbors, and lifelong friends who were blessed to know her.
To know Marcelina was to know a woman whose door was always open and whose heart was even bigger. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where family and friends always found a warm welcome and a home-cooked meal prepared with love. Feeding the people she loved was one of the many ways she showed her affection, and no one ever left her home hungry.
Marcelina found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved traveling to Florida, especially the memorable trips she and Mingo shared with her older sister while visiting Miami. She enjoyed trying her luck at the casino, proudly collected cow figurines, and treasured long conversations with neighbors, family, and friends. Whether sharing stories around the table or offering words of encouragement, she had a special way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved.
She was a woman of incredible strength, determination, and resilience. Strong-minded and fearless, Marcelina never accepted "no" for an answer when it came to protecting or providing for the people she loved. She was a natural leader whose courage carried her family through life's joys and hardships alike. Yet beneath her strength was a heart overflowing with kindness, compassion, and generosity. She loved deeply, gave freely, and expected nothing in return except the happiness of those she cared for.
The values she lived by—hard work, loyalty, hospitality, and unconditional love—will continue to guide her family for generations to come. Although her absence leaves an immeasurable void, the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to honor Marcelina's life during visitation on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 14768 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44111.

Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 3607 Pearl Road, Cleveland, OH 44109.
Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the gift of Marcelina's life. Her love was the foundation of her family, her wisdom a guiding light, and her strength an enduring example. She leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured in years alone, but in the countless lives she touched with her generosity, compassion, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts.
