Maria will be remembered for her unwavering love for her children and family, her kind heart, and her steadfast faith. A devoted Jehovah's Witness for more than 60 years, she drew strength, comfort, and purpose from her faith and lived her life according to its principles.
Those who knew Maria will fondly remember her infectious smile, quick sense of humor, and warm spirit. She found joy in music, poetry, dancing, and tending to her beautiful garden, which reflected the care and attention she gave to all aspects of her life. In her younger years, Maria worked as an early childhood teacher with the Head Start Program, where she shared her love of learning and caring for children. Nurturing young minds was one of her greatest joys and a reflection of her naturally compassionate nature.
Born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, Maria took great pride in her Puerto Rican heritage and remained deeply connected to her family and roots on the island throughout her life. She treasured opportunities to return to Puerto Rico and visit loved ones there. Although she held Puerto Rico close to her heart, Cleveland, Ohio, was her home for more than 62 years, where she built a life rich with family, friendships, faith, and community.
Maria's life was defined by love, resilience, generosity, and faith. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply. Though she will be greatly missed, her loved ones find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and son, and with the hope of seeing them again in God's promised new world.
