Mark Hairston

Mark was born on Tuesday, November 20, 1951 in Kimbal, West Virginia to parents Henry Clay Hairston and Janie Elizabeth Graham Hairston. He was called to rest on Friday, June 9, 2023.

As a young child, his parents relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where Mark attended Cleveland Public Schools including Dunham Elementary, Thomas Addison Junior High, Shaw High School, CCC and Cleveland State University.

Mark was a Christian of Prayer Temple Church. He was a carpenter and loquacious individual who never met a stranger. His passions included family, singing, fishing, cooking and laughter.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Henry Clay and Janie Hairston and brother David Hairston.

His life and impact will be remembered and cherished by his four sisters, Josephine Rhodes (Craig), Bernice Sanders (William), Jessica Wimberly and Susan Henry (Toriano) and three brothers Henry C. Hairston, Jr., Wendell Hairston (Wendy), Steven Hairston (DoJuana) and a host of friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless others who were near and dear to him.

A wake for Mark will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 PM.
