Mattie Dunklin

Mattie C. Dunklin (nee Presley), 72, of Euclid, passed away October 25, 2019.

She was born in Greenville, Alabama, the daughter of the late Willie D. Presley and Ruthie Mae Minor (nee Powell). She is the beloved mother of Earl, Lynetta, Jose (Tonya) and Juquita; cherished grandmother of Mattie and Dalante Dunklin, Cierra (Chris) Hall, Lameisha Hill, Freddie Curry, Jose Dunklin Jr. and Chantia and Tiona Dunklin; adored great-grandmother of Anthony, Dalante Jr., Ahmad and Erica; dear sister of Curtis (Cathy) Minor, Patricia (Dwight) Thomas, Cindera (Dwayne, deceased) Motley, Willie Minor, Courtney Taylor, Tubie (Willie) Adams and the late James (Diane) Minor Jr., Howard Minor, Walt (Leslie) Minor and Virginia (Norman) Jackson; Special niece to Lucy (Frank, deceased) Hale; loving aunt of many.

Mattie was a member of Pine Level Baptist church where she was Baptized at the age of eight-years-old. She attended Greenville Training High School. Mattie later moved to Akron, Ohio from Greensville, Alabama in 1966 and joined the Jerusalem Baptist Church. She relocated to Cleveland in 1968 where she was married to the late Lewis Earl Dunklin and, in 1970, she joined the Mt. Gillion Baptist Church under the late Pastor Freddie L. Brown. She retired from the East Cleveland School system following 37 years of dedicated service as their custodian.

The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, November 1, 2019 at 11AM at the Mt. Gillion Baptist Church, 7025 Cedar Avenue, Cleveland 44103, where the family will receive friends on Friday from 10AM until the time of service.
