Beatrice Francis. He was born in Jamaica at the Spanish Town Hospital.
He resided at 14 Burke Road in Spanish Town with his parents and siblings.
He is the second of eight (8) children: Dulrice, Selvin, Ainsley, Elaine, Fay
(deceased), Franklyn and Jennifer.
Growing up, he was quiet, obedient, loved his family, jovial and smiled
about everything.
He attended Spanish Town Primary School and after graduating, he went
on to learn a trade in welding. He worked as a Truck Driver for Lee's
Kerosene Oil Company. He delivered oil all over the island because people
did not have electricity and had to be using kerosene oil lamps. He moved
on to work as a Machine Operator at Tia Maria and was given an award
for long service (20 years).
He had many friends and had to attend church. He grew up in a Christian home, where his father was a Baptist minister. He met Monica when he was 5 years old and she was 8. Little did he know that she would have been his wife. They met at Spanish Town Primary School. After her mom died, she left Spanish Town Primary and he followed her to Cresent Primary. For two (2) weeks, he was absent from his school because he wanted to be where she was. She did not see him until many years after, when they both went to a standpipe to get water. He asked where he knew her from and was told that he did not know her. He kept on fooling around with her and she threw a bucket filled with water, all over him. Their friendship began when dad was 17 years old and he told her that he loved her and would marry her. They were together for nine (9) years. They got married on June 13, 1976. He was a family man and took care of his children when Monica migrated to the United States. He migrated to the United States in December 1995. He was baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist faith after he was married. He was one of the first persons to start the Dela-Vega City Church and was the first elder. The union produced five children: Michael, Clyde (deceased), Andrea, Christine and Courtney. He will be greatly missed. On June 15 at about 9:30 pm, he had a sudden heart attack and was rushed to the University hospital on Euclid,
where doctors tried, for 45 minutes to an hour, to resuscitate him but his heart would not start. He was pronounced dead at 10:20 pm. He leaves to mourn: wife Monica, children Michael, Andrea, Christine and Courtney. Sisters Dulrice, Elaine and Jennifer. Brothers Ainsley, Selvin and Franklyn. Grandchildren: Michael Tucker Jr., Zaniel Martin, Michaelette Tucker, Chabia Francis and Makyla Tucker, seventeen (17) nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts.
