While attending Bedford High School, Joey enrolled in the vocational program specializing in automotive technology. In 1998, he graduated from Bedford High and enlisted in the United States Army as a diesel wheeled vehicle mechanic. Joey was stationed in many parts of the world, including the Middle East, Europe and Asia. He received an honorable discharge for his service to America from 1998 to 2001.
After discharge from the Army, Joey worked multiple mechanical and technical positions, most notably his career with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, where he was employed for over a decade. Determined to achieve a stellar career in the automotive field, he successfully completed advanced training courses to sharpen his mechanical skills.
An engineering, tech & science enthusiast, Joey also enjoyed a variety of pursuits in his spare time. He was a movie, sports and music aficionado, well-informed on current events and involved in numerous home improvement and landscaping projects. He loved travel, photography and spending time with friends and family. He adored his son Jules and his three nephews, Hannibal, Okang, and Xango.
Joey made his transition on May 7, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Donald, grandparents Jack and Hattie Donald & Mary and Stanley Edwards, as well as his Aunt Lois. He is survived by son Joseph J. Donald, his mother Iris Jefferson, sisters Monique and Marchelle, nephews Okang, Xango and Hannibal and a host of aunts uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.
We, the family of Mr. Joseph Steven Donald, wish to express earnest appreciation for the many acts of kindness and sympathy extended to us during this time of bereavement.
