

Stanley Prentice Brown Sr. a.k.a. Downtown Brown was born February 3, 1933 to the late Fred C. & Ella Brown in Paducah, Kentucky. He attended Lincoln High School in Paducah. In 1953 while in the 11th grade he was drafted to the United States Army, where he served in the Korean War as a Smoke Generator Operator. In 1955 he was honorably discharged from active military duty, but went on to serve 8 years in the Army Reserve.
Stanley moved to Cleveland, OH in 1955 after being honorably discharged from active duty. He married his first wife Evelyn Brown, who proceeded him in death. He remarried Lorine O'Neal Brown April 15, 1986 who also proceeded him in death. Lorine was a dedicated member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church & was a huge influence in Stanley accepting Christ as his savior and being baptized at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Stanley was employed as a Parking Lot Attendant for many lots in the Downtown Cleveland area for a number of years. He then went on to become employed with Cook Paving & Construction Company where he worked as a Heavy Machine Operator for 30 years before his health began to fail.
Stanley Prentice Brown Sr. leaves to mourn 3 sons, Stanley P Brown Jr., Anthony Brown Sr.& Jeffrey Brown; 3 daughters, Forrestine O'Neal, Bernadine O'Neal & Doris Ann O’Neal; 1 stepdaughter, Patricia Dobson, 1brother Roger Brown(Marsha); 3 sisters Betsy Davis(Clarence), Fannie Wims(Ted) & Charlotte Conner(Richard); 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, a host of other relatives & friends. Preceding him in death, 1 brother Fred Brown(Luelma), a sister Elsie Rowlette(James), 1 son Milton O'Neal & 1 stepson Alvin Lee O'Neal.
