

Clara (Clarence) Skipper Davis also known as (Dear) was born February 11, 1935 to Willie (Flute) & Rebecca (Tidd) Skipper in Natchez, Mississippi. Clara received Christ into her life at a very early age and was baptized at Grove A.M.E. Church in Natchez. Clara received her education from St. Francis Catholic School from K-12th grade. At a young age, she enjoyed playing basketball. Later on her parents decided to relocate to Cleveland, Ohio and this is where she met her first husband William Jones and started a family. After several years of marriage William and Clara decided to go their separate ways. While in Cleveland, Clara had the privilege of working for Filter Dynamics and Lynn’s Department Store.
During a visit to Natchez, Clara met and married Joshua Davis until his death. While in Natchez she worked for the Natchez Ballet Company up until she retired in 2000. During her retirement she started to enjoy outdoor activities such as gardening and growing vegetables.
After her husband Joshua passed away she decided to move back to Cleveland to be with her brothers and sister where she spent the remainder of her time enjoying life and family.
Her interests included serving the lord, sports,*especially debating politics*, reading, and historical events.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents Willie Sr. and Rebecca Skipper, four brothers Sidney Skipper, Willie Skipper, Nelson Skipper, and Landy Skipper. One sister Narcissa (Love) Houston. One son Reno Allen Jones. She leaves behind five daughters, Marilyn (Punch) Moore of Virginia, Debra Okoto-Boame of Cleveland, Cassandra (Cricket) Jones of Alabama, Gwenda (Gwen) Long of Cleveland and Mitnee Jones of Georgia. One brother (Pearly James Skipper) of Natchez. 17 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
