

Cora Belle Malone-Brown, 81, of Cleveland, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Cora was born in Holt, Alabama on February 6, 1937 to the late Beatrice Walls and Marvion Smith. Cora had three sisters - Bertha Miller, Mattie Cabil and Willia Fuentes (who all proceeded her in death); and five brothers - Tommie Simmons, Walter Burrell, David Malone, Charles Walls (who all proceeded her in death) and Edward Malone (Elois) of Cleveland, Ohio. In 1981, Cora met her husband, George S. Brown. They would spend the next 38 years of their lives together in love. A true matriarch, Cora was a pillar of strength for family and community alike. Loved and admired for her generous spirit, many would seek her out for advice, comfort, reassurance and support. A gentle soul, Cora will forever be remembered for her willingness to open both heart and home to those in need. Cora worked for the Cleveland Board of Education as a food service manager for 33 years. She loved to cook, read, play computer solitaire and entertain family and friends. An ever faithful servant of the Lord, Cora was an Eastern Star and a member of Rehoboth Temple Church. Cora had five children - Anthony Malone, Lawrence Walker, Jr. (who preceded her in death), Dexter Malone, Sheila Malone and Gary Malone (Bettina); seven grandchildren - Anthony, Lawrence, LaTasha, Antoinette, Lavelle, Da’Juan and Zachary; and eight great grandchildren. Cora leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to cherish her memories.
