Mrs. Donna Louise Lewis

DONNA LOUISE LEWIS was born to Louise and the late Earl Jennings on May 31, 1952 in Lynchburg, VA. She was a member of Everlasting Baptist Church. While busily pursuing life and her chosen career, Donna met and married Jessie P. Lewis (deceased) in December of 1988. During her life, Donna was blessed with four children - Maurice T.W. Jennings (Teresa), Rose L. Bates (deceased), Michael J.T. Hawkins and Jessica L.R. Lewis.Donna truly enjoyed life and living. Her greatest joy was found in her family and friends. Her generosity of spirit was one of her great strengths. She was a member of AA and enjoyed uninterrupted sobriety for over 35 years. She supported a multitude of community service activities and provided guidance and emotional support to those in need. She had a strong personality and spirit which was hard to resist.Donna leaves to mourn her passing her children and grandchildren Matthew, Jade and Rosalina who she greatly cherished and adored. She is survived by her mother Louise W. Hatten and four sisters Waheedah Jabir (Jamal), Linda Williams (Carl), Patrice Jennings and Denita Colston. Her brother Shawn Colston preceded her in death. She will be missed by a host of relatives and two aunts - Constance Saunders and Betty Mae Withers. She leaves behind her loving and devoted friends of over 50 years Gail (Cat) Wheeler-Sanders, Roberta Thomas, and Cora (Ellie) Welsh and Glenn Hendrix.Donna exhibited great strength and courage during her last months of life. She departed peacefully into eternal rest the morning of May 4, 2017. Her devoted son, daughter and other loving family members were at her side. Donna, may you rest in God's loving care. You will have a special place in all our hearts. Through our cherished memories, you will live on forever.WE LOVE YOU DONNA
