Alabama to his parents Amydell Hunter & Peter Gipson Sr (deceased). He
accepted Christ at an early age and found a church home at Faith Temple
Baptist Church as an adult.
Pete was a very hardworking man that made sure to take care of his wife
and family. He instilled a work ethic into his children and grandchildren
from a very young age. He worked a number of jobs to support his family
including General Motors and Construction Work.
Everyone knew Pete with the blue Cadillac. In his spare time he was an
avid bowler, having participated in a few bowling leagues. He bowled up
until his 88th birthday! Peter loved his family very much, especially his
grandchildren. They were the highlight of the later years of his life. He
spent a lot of time teaching them to drive, cook, and making sure they had
everything they needed.
Peter was called home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2020. He is survived
by his loving wife Pattie Gipson. A beautiful sister Nancy Washington. His
daughters Nicole & Nikita Gipson and Jessica Frye. He was blessed with
three Granddaughters Eriuna, Jazmine and Vernisha. Three Grandsons;
Patrick Gall, De’Vaughnte Williams and James Clardy Jr. Peter was also
blessed enough to see the birth of his great grandchildren. Great Grand
daughters Jaimaya, Jordyn and Navaiah. Along with great grandson Jai’Lyn,
whom he affectionately called Jay Jay....and a host of nieces and nephews
he loved. Pete will most certainly be missed. His laugh, his smile and his
presence. Rest Peacefully Pete. Until we see you again.
