She was born in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Matthew and Mildred (nee Ballasch) Chmura. Sharon was the beloved wife of 56 years to Leon; loving mother of Shamus (Paul Demming); dear sister of Ronald (Frances) Chmura and Dennis Chmura and sister-in-law of Charlene Antol and Norma (James, deceased) Capozza; adored aunt of many.
Sharon was an avid sports enthusiast, being a 35+ year season ticket holder of the Cleveland Browns and a dedicated fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Her unwavering support and passion were well-known among friends and even to everyone who worked the games.
Beyond her love for sports, Sharon had a profound admiration for Elvis Presley. Starting in 1978, she would make the pilgrimage to Graceland every August, for close to 20 years. Making friends from all over the world, including Elvis’ uncle and bodyguard.
Sharon will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her vibrant spirit and dedication to her passions leave a lasting legacy.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 11AM-1PM with a funeral service at 1PM at Craciun Berry Funeral Home, 7200 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
