SHEILA ANN LONG, age 63, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025. Loving daughter of the late Lee and Terry Long; dear sister of Sally Long (Tim Rodgers), Brian Long (Alice Dooley), Martin Long (Judy) and the late Mark Long (Clare); aunt of Dave, Matt, Abby, Tim, Kate, Bridget, Celeste, Glenn, Patrick, Wren and Megan. Sheila will also be dearly missed by her furry friend, Georgie.
Sheila graduated from Saint Augustine High school with honors. She was an accomplished athlete and a state-champion basketball player. Sheila earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Cleveland State and a Master’s of Journalism from Kent State. She worked as a reporter and writer until she found her true love in landscape design. She enjoyed creative writing, music, puzzles, scrabble, reading and gardening.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Sheila’s life. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to May Dugan Center at maydugancenter.org
