Shiniqua G Nickerson-Mayes

Shiniqua G. Nickerson-Mayes was born on May 29th, 1992, in Cleveland, Ohio to Nakia Nickerson and Earl Bearden. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Vertha Nickerson; grandfather William C. Nickerson; uncles, Isaiah Nickerson, Sr. & Jackie Bearden; aunts, Lelia Nickerson & Trina Mapson-Nickerson; cousins, Ricky Nickerson & De Andre Nickerson. She was blessed with three children, two daughters, Shanaya & Shanasia; one son, Sire. Shiniqua was the eldest of three brothers, Jeromy, Jamaal & Diashaune; two sisters, Ellishay & Shayellis.

In 2012, Shiniqua received her nursing license in homecare. In 2013, she married Lawrence Mayes and later obtained her GED in 2017. Shiniqua's love for her family was by far her best quality. She would do anything for them without question. She would give her last dollar just to help anyone in need. Her hobbies included fashion and beauty.

Shiniqua departed this life on August 31st, 2023. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Lawrence; mother, Nakia Nickerson; father, Earl Bearden; two daughters, Shanaya & Shanasia; one son, Sire; three brothers, Jeromy, Jamaal & Diashaune; two sisters, Ellishay & Shayellis; grandmother, Jessie Townsend; uncles, Aaron Nickerson, Stacey Bearden & Otto Bearden; aunts, Betty Nickerson & Donna Bearden; one niece, Zatavia and host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends.

A visitation for Shiniqua will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A wake will occur Monday, September 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11:30 AM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44112. An interment private will occur.
