Sr. Estela Guerrero Contreras Hmss

Sr. Stella Guerrero Contreras HMSS. We ask you to join us in praying for the repose of the soul of Sr. Stella, HMSS, who passed away on October 19th, 2026. Sister suffered for many years from dementia. Sr. Stella faithfully loved the Lord for more than 60 years as a Mercedarian Sister of the Blessed Sacrament, serving proudly in her home state of Corpus Christi Texas, and later in Cleveland, Ohio, in the community of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (West). May she rest in peace, Marching with the Saints in Heaven!

She is predeceased by her parents Eugenio Sr. and Jesusa de Maria Contreras, survived by her brother Adolfo Contreras and sister Maria Puente, and the following deceased: Angelita (Sixto) Sandoval Sr., Eugenio (Germana) Contreras Jr., Rosa (Regino) Deleon Sr. and survived by many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

She also leaves behind her dear community of religious sisters who she shared her life with honoring Our Lord and His Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Mercy.

Her community and family will receive friends Wednesday October 21st, 2026, from 5 - 7pm, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 6928 Detroit Ave. Cleveland Ohio 44102. Her Funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday at 11am at Mount Carmel. Her burial will take place at a later date in Baton Rouge Louisiana.
