Thornton Davis was a man to be respected and honored and loved.  He had an undeniable dignity about him.  He was a bright light, with a very endearing, easy-going likeable quality.  It was always a joy to be in his presence.  His relationship with his daughter, my friend, Michelle was profoundly inspirational.  They personified the essence of acceptance and love.   I feel blessed to have known him.

There is a time when we all are together, yet when it comes, we no longer are together. God gives us this spiritual bond which death can’t separate no matter how it tries. Thornton will always be a part of our lives forever. May his memories of life be our guide "he lives within us". Will miss him.  View Street No. 5 our home always.

Michelle and Lamont, Deepest condolences for the passing of your dad and my dearest brother, Thornton Brown Davis. ❤️ He and your mom were always so welcoming and wonderful to us. I remember as kids, we were so excited when they came home (to Lynch) to visit. They were always “dressed to the nine’s”‼️ Had you all looking good too.😅 Their legacy lives on through both of you. May you both be at peace knowing that he is a hero: A hero is selfless, a genuinely good person, and someone gets the undivided attention of all of us and causes change. Someone willing to risk their own life to save another. Thornton’s service and love for his family and country (Vietnam Veteran) speaks volumes about his character. ✌🏽🙏🏽❤️

He was cheerful and he was a good person. And, he was there for us when we needed him. ✌🏽🙏🏽🫶🏽

My prayers of comfort and strength goes to the Davis family. I met Thornton some years ago and wanted to share a memory of the last encounter with him. We were talking about going bowling and he mentioned he hadn’t bowled in awhile so we all went. I was bragging about being on our church bowling league but he never said anything about his bowling skills. He crushed his brother Michael, his nephew Mike and me, a lone bowling league member. He just smiled. Rest high on that mountain Sir, your work on earth is done.
