Vince left this earthly world on April 25th, 2020 after a courageous fight with Leukemia. He has left his beloved wife, Cheryl of 44 years, in good care with their three wonderful daughters, Andriana (Patrick Rolwing), Teresa and Victoria (Gerald Black Jr). Vince was blessed with three lovely grandchildren, Emma and Ava Black and Lucas Rolwing.
Like many young men of his time, he served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Vince returned home to work as a meat cutter, a trade he learned from working at the Old Central Market.
His dream was to have his own business and he was able to achieve that at the Central Market in 1982, later moving Vince’s Meats to the West Side Market. Vince was passionate about keeping the market true to its core and served several terms as the president of the WSM Tenants’ Association. Most noted during the Centennial celebration and the restoration period after the “big fire.” He loved to interact with his many customers and enjoyed doing custom orders. He was indeed a people person! His girls grew up in the family business and it has served them well in all their endeavors.
As changes started occurring at the Market, the decision was made to retire Vince’s Meats and start a new adventure in life. For all his 71 years, he put all he had into everything he did.
At the end his family was with him and that was what mattered the most to him, Family. All services are private and Vince will be buried at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery!
