Warren Dewitt Clark, beloved husband of Crystal Arrington Clark, loving father of Warren Jr., William, and Desiree Key, was born on May 30, 1958, in Los Angeles, California. He was the second child to the late Alma and William Clark. At a young age, Warren accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Fellowship Baptist Church. Warren attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from John Hay High School.
After graduating from High School he started working at the Plain Dealer Newspaper Company and later at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. This is where Warren and Crystal met. After dating, the relationship blossomed into love and respect for each other.
Ultimately, Crystal and Warren's loyalty for each other resulted in love and marriage. Crystal and Warren were married on May 12, 1995, by Pastor Larry Harris of The Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. The Holy Matrimony was a walk together for over thirty years.
Crystal and Warren celebrated all the month of May because they shared birthdays, anniversaries, and Mother's Day together. From God and their love two children were born to this union. Warren Benjamin and William Benjamin Roberto Clark. Warren's wife, his children, his family, and his church were the focal points of his life after a car accident in 2019. He had a stroke, but that didn't stop him from being active in life as a result of the accident Warren was ultimately having to face challenges of needing a kidney.
Warren's journey of Faith ("I've been running for Jesus a long time. I'm not tired yet...") Psalm 121:1-2, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth." Warren was running a marathon and not a sprint. Warren would need strength for the long run as he pondered the marathon that God set before him to run. Hebrews 12:1-2. Warren's life bounced off the words of these scriptures. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, Psalm 37-23.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day. Why are the tears and faces so sad? If you knew where I am, you'd be glad. On August 6, 2024, God called me by my name and down to my bedside of death Angels came. They carried me up to my home in the sky, so you don't have to worry or wonder why I don't have to suffer. I don't have to cry because God has wiped every tear from my eyes. I appreciate your help and all that you've done, but my work is finished and my race has been won. Please live for Jesus. It will be worthwhile and on that great day you'll see me smile; no more goodbye, only see you later. My loved ones, family and friends. We will see each other when eternal life begins.
Warren leaves to cherish his legacy and memories: his loving and devoted wife of thirty years, Crystal Arrington Clark; Warren Benjamin Clark, William Benjamin Roberto Clark; daughter, Desiree Key; brother, Eugene Dudley Clark (Charisse); two brothers-in-law, Benjamin, Richard Arrington (Valencia), and Joseph Jenkins (LaDeidre); three nieces; four great-nieces and great-nephews; six great-nephews; and a host of families, the Gardners, Arrington, and Dean Families; and devoted friends.
