Willie Mae Terry, a beloved sister, grandmother, and devoted woman of

faith, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on

September 13, 1934, in La Marque to Joe Newbill and Ida Brown, Willie

Mae brought warmth, dedication, and beauty into the lives of everyone she

met.

A Life of Love and Reunion

As a young woman, Willie Mae relocated to the Cleveland area, where she

met and married the love of her life, Thomas Terry. Together, they built a

beautiful life and welcomed their cherished daughter, Tracey Lynn Terry.

While our hearts are heavy, we find profound comfort in knowing that

Willie Mae has been joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved husband,

Thomas, and their dear daughter, Tracey. After years apart, the Terry family

is peacefully together again.

Dedicated to Faith and her Community

Willie Mae was a woman of unwavering faith. As a dedicated, lifelong

church member, she quietly and consistently supported her congregation,

keeping her tithing and her devotion to God at the center of her life.

For many years, Willie Mae served her community as a School Safety

Crossing Guard. With her watchful eye and warm smile, she made it her

personal mission to ensure that countless neighborhood children made it

safely to and from school each day. Her protective spirit left a lasting mark

on the Cleveland community.

A Creative Heart and Sweet Southern Soul

Those who knew Willie Mae will always remember her vibrant passions:

• A Green Thumb: She had a deep love for plants and flowers, finding

joy in watching things grow and bloom.

• A Master Crafter: Willie Mae was incredibly gifted with her hands.

She spent countless hours sewing, crocheting, and stitching together

some of the most beautiful, comforting quilts you could ever see or

feel.

• A Southern Cook: Nothing brought her family together quite like

her cooking. She loved preparing classic Southern dishes, and her

famous Apple Pie and Lemon Pound Cake were legendary

centerpieces at family gatherings.

Her Lasting Legacy

Willie Mae’s love and memory will be forever cherished by those she

leaves behind:

• Her Sisters: Her older sister, Alberta Glass, and her two younger

sisters, Augustine Terry and Ida Henderson.

• Her Grandchildren: Her beloved grandchildren, Carai and Chaad

Terry, who brought immense joy to her later years.

who will miss her deeply.
