Bertrand J. Lachance

Bertrand J. Lachance, 86, of East Hartford, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2011 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Canada on July 26, 1924, he was the son of Alfred and Annie (Beaulieu) Lachance. He retired from Connecticut Spring in Farmington where he worked as a machinist. Bert was a long time communicant and past sacristan at St. Rose Church in East Hartford and was a 4th degree member of the East Hartford Knights of Columbus. He is survived by two sisters, Fernande Cyr of Madawaska, ME, and Teresa Cote of Grand Isle, ME; a special sister-in-law and nephew, Kathleen Lachance and Robert J. Lachance, Jr., and his wife Lisa, all of East Hartford; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, February 28, 2011 from 5-7PM at the Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 9:15AM at the funeral home to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bert’s memory may be made to St. Rose Church .
