She was born on September 19, 1950, in Norwich, Connecticut, and was raised in Jacksonville, Vermont until the age of 12, when she returned to Connecticut. The experiences of her early years helped shape the strong sense of family, community, and compassion that guided her throughout her life. Diana graduated from Norwich Free Academy and went on to obtain her Associate’s Degree from Middlesex Community College. She later dedicated many years of service as a Guidance Office Secretary at The Morgan School, where she was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support of students, families, and colleagues.
Diana was deeply involved in her community and passionate about supporting local schools and organizations. She proudly served as Past President of the Friends of Lewin G. Joel School, Abraham Pierson School, and Jared Eliot Middle School. She generously volunteered her time teaching the art of knitting to students through The Morgan School Knitting Club. She was also a proud member of the Priscilla Club, a local women’s social, philanthropic, and community organization. Her commitment to education and community service reflected her generous heart and lifelong dedication to helping others.
In her retirement, Diana’s greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and supporting the communities they were part of. Alongside her husband and love of her life, Michael, she could always be found on the sidelines cheering them on. She rarely missed a dance competition for her granddaughter and enthusiastically supported her four grandsons at their soccer, basketball, and baseball games. She formed special friendships with families along the sidelines, and to many parents and children alike, she was lovingly known simply as “Mimi.” Her presence, encouragement, and pride in her grandchildren brought her immense happiness and created lasting memories for all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry DesRosier, and her mother, Claire DesRosier.
Diana is survived by her loving husband, Michael Brochu; her son, Jason Brochu; her daughter, Julie Bruno; daughter-in-law Jessica Brochu; son-in-law Stephen Bruno; and her beloved grandchildren, Emily Brochu, Cole Bruno, Tyler Brochu, Chase Bruno, and Carter Bruno, who were the greatest joy of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Sally Busch, and her brothers, Bruce and Peter DesRosier, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swan Funeral Home in Clinton, Connecticut. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of Christ Congregational in Clinton.
