

It is with both deep sadness and great joy in a long happy life that we announce the passing of Irene Edith Loescher on Sept 5, 2024. at the age of 98. Irene was born on Feb 27, 1926. in New Haven, CT. She and her husband “Cutch” enjoyed fishing and sailing together and raising 3 boys. She worked as a freelance Graphic Artist. Irene was an independent, active, vibrant person that brought joy to every person she met with her friendly smile and her can-do attitude. Even at the age of 94 she would take the Nine Town Transit bus every day to the YMCA for a swim, aqua size class and return home to paint watercolors. She is survived by; Paul and Barbara Loescher, Bill Loescher and his partner Sandy Cook, Mark Loescher, her grandchildren; Elyse Berco, Erik Loescher, Scott Loescher, Gale Loescher and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Cutch” Loescher, her mother Edith Broomfield, her father John Broomfield and her siblings; Alan Broomfield, Winnie Maroney and Lincoln Broomfield.
As per her wishes no funeral or memorial services will be held. Irene was always looking forward to the future and never dwelled on the past. So with that in mind her son Paul thought we should look to the future and support the organization that brought such joy to her life everyday.
