

James A. Christiana, Jr., 87, of Clinton, passed away on January 12, 2018, at home. He was the beloved husband of Jane Christiana. Jim was born in Hartford, on October 1, 1930.He lived in CT for 6 years until family moved to Agawam, MA and then to Springfield, MA. Jim was married in 1955. Jane and Jim lived in Springfield after marriage where their 3 children were born. In 1962 the family moved to Clinton. Jim served in Navy for 4 years. He was a Korean War veteran. After moving to Clinton he became a finished carpenter. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. He loved the internet and playing games on Pogo. Jim also loved animals. His favorite was his dog Snitzel. After his dog passed away he settled for 2 cats, Wally and Petey. Jim had a great talent for painting. He was having a good time with it until the arthritis in his hands got too bad. Besides his wife Jane, he leaves his children, Karen Gasparini of
Midlothian, VA, and her husband Jeff, and Kathy King of Old Lyme and her husband Andy. His son Curtis predeceased him in 2006. In addition he is survived by his grandchildren, Lauren and Patrick Gasparini,
and Daniel who predeceased him. Jake and Sam King. He also leaves his 3 sisters. Joann Preziosi and her husband John of Wethersfield, CT, Paula Antico and her husband Bruno of Agawam, MA, and Bernadette Christiana of Georgia, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents James, Sr. and Jennie DeGruttola
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 14th from 5-7pm at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 15th at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Church, Grove St., Clinton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name
to St. Mary’s Church, 54 Grove St., Clinton, CT 06413.
