

Born on June 30, 1959, in Springfield, MA, he was the beloved son of James and Teresa Kimmett. Jim graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1981 and dedicated his entire career to helping others as a Medical Dosimetrist at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Jim cherished his time outdoors, especially when surrounded by his family. He spent his free time sailing, snowboarding, and playing soccer with his children, and he particularly looked forward to the annual family camping trips to Maine. Jim was widely known for his thoughtful conversations, his welcoming spirit, and his quick wit.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, and his children, Peter, James, David, Sean, and MegEllen. He also leaves behind his devoted sisters, Ann Marie Kimmett and Terry Durkin (Thomas), as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main Street, Clinton, CT. A burial service will follow immediately. In lieu of flowers, plant a tree in Jim’s memory.
