John Charles Karol Sr.

John C. Karol, Sr., passed suddenly Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the VA Hospital in West Haven, CT. Born December 2, 1938 in Taunton, MA to the late Laura and Charles Karol. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Ruth Kaechelin Karol, his sons John Karol Jr. and wife Jennifer of Chesterfield, VA, Michael Karol of Clinton, Robert Karol of Clinton and daughter Joanne Schroff and companion Brian O’Sullivan of Clinton. His siblings Maureen Buffington and husband Jim of Taunton, MA and Steven Karol of Taunton, MA. 11 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by daughter Diana (Dee Dee) Robinson of Clinton, son David Karol (wife Debbie) of Chester and granddaughter Robin Karol of Clinton.

He served in The United States Army 1956 – 1959 stationed in Germany where he met the love of his life. His enjoyment came from golfing with his sons, his love of Baseball and The Boston Red Sox and time with his family. He will forever be remembered by many for his smiling face, sense of humor and kind heart.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 28th at 1pm at the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society
