We are deeply saddened to share that Lawrence “Larry” G. Visaggio, born on April 29, 1949, passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by family and close friends. The youngest of five children, he was born in Altoona, PA, to Gilbert and Minnie Visaggio. Larry was a longtime resident of Clinton, Connecticut.
Larry graduated from Altoona High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army Reserves, and the Connecticut Army National Guard, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was honorably discharged after many years of faithful service to his country. Larry was a hardworking, intelligent man who started his career as a machinist at United Nuclear and Pratt & Whitney. He then moved on to a better opportunity as a Customer Service Engineer at IBM Corp. When no one else could fix something, Larry was the person you called. He retired from IBM after more than 35 years of dedicated service. Larry enjoyed his retirement, spending time with his children and grandchildren, traveling, golfing, going to the gym, and hitting the open road.
Larry was a devoted father, father-in-law, grandfather, cat owner, and loyal friend to many. His warm, welcoming demeanor, kind eyes, quick wit, and ability to share a good story instantly won your heart. His love for adrenaline, whether it be skiing, rollerblading, riding his Harley and Big Dog, or driving his Corvette, was matched only by his love and dedication to his family. Despite facing numerous challenges after being diagnosed with ALS in 2015, he chose to live every day to the fullest. His unwavering strength and resilience in the face of adversity were an inspiration to everyone he met.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara Jorden, and brothers William and Ronald Visaggio.
