Oh, my gosh, where to begin ... so many memories. I guess the best were of her on her walks with her last dog, Jake. They so seemed to enjoy each other's company.

I had the great good fortune to know Lil as a friend and neighbor for over 30 years. When I served on the Board of the Clinton Beach Association, and later as its President, she was always there, ready to pitch-in. She was "old school", keeping all of her records, handwritten in a notebook.

One of my fondest memories of her was regarding an adding-machine I had purchased early-on in my presidency, to help her with her long-hand computations. On a visit to her home some years later, I saw the adding machine, and the STILL-UNOPENED package containing multiple rolls of adding-machine tape.

Rest well, my old friend - you definitely made a difference.

Mrs. Allen was a good friend and neighbor for more than 40 years. With her passing an era has ended, no more stories about Hubbard's store and the early days of the beach. Judy Henry Brown

Lill's family: Lill was one of a kind---a tough cookie and a survivor who lived a good life. Enjoyed chatting with her when we were shuffling the Courant and the Register between her home and the Bonati's home. One of the last old timers that made Shore Road a unique and fun place to live. She was a walking history book of the Beach and the good old days. She will be missed but not forgotten.
